No iPhag phone, no problem. My old LG only makes/takes calls, no GPS, and I leave it off so no tower tracking.

My phone dings when my car starts. When someone else leaves in it. My phone tells me how long it will take to get to work or a certain restaurant where I don’t even eat. The restaurant is by the grocery store though.
On the newer phones, you are not able to remove the battery.

You are waaaay too late! They have been tracking you for years! Use a charge card to pay for anything!? They know where you are/have been and what you spent it on. Triangulation? They know where you are or have been. Watching TV? Your smart TV reports on you, what you watched and where you are. Smart appliances (IoT)? They know what you consume, and can predict where you will go to replenish based on past purchases and when you might go, or have gone in the past. Smart car? Same thing. Cameras can scan your license plate, and ID your location. And on and on. Purposely turning off GPS (location setting) of your phone? It has been discovered this setting is discretionary for the vendor (e.g., Google, Apple, Microsoft...). They needn’t abide by your setting. You are waaay too late.

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey said weeks ago that her decision to issue a stay at home order was based on cell phone data which showed people were going out.
“Last week, Ivey ordered the closure of all non-essential businesses, but resisted going further to implement a stay-home order as surrounding states did one-by-one this week. That changed on Thursday afternoon for two reasons, Ivey said: the significant rise in confirmed infections and cell phone data showing that many Alabamians were traveling around significantly in defiance of requests to stay home.
“The bottom line is folks are just not paying attention,” Ivey said.

That is why they now make all those LED desk lamps nowadays without replaceable diodes. Their customers will just by a new lamp when that burns out anyways.
