Dr Carson was already retired from being a pediatric neurosurgeon when he accepted the HUD position. He is absolutely brilliant and has probably made many positive changes there. He would just do it quietly.

Trump's answer will be, "No."

He has to keep a close eye on them. If he isn't there, they are more likely to go more leftist.

It is grossly unfair to mention Gates in the same breath as Soros.

Unlike Soros, Gates is using his philanthropy to actually solve problems. His foundation’s approach is very sound; and miles ahead of almost any government’s practices. Curse Windows all you want (I won’t disagree); but, give Gates his due. His philanthropy is the real deal — not some evil plot to take over the world (Soros); or a vanity project or tax dodge (most other billionaires); or a means of laundering bribes (Clinton Crime Foundation).

Gates warned us all about this pandemic 5 years ago. He called on governments to be prepared.

Were you watching how Bill Gates was making his fortune in the early eighties? Do you truly not have even the faintest clue who that man really is?

Tell you what. Either go find back issues of Byte magazine or PC Magazine and read up. Or law reviews from the same period.

The man was a straight up crook.
Part of his business was legitimate.

But other parts were not.

Bill Gates was a patent poacher. He analyzed the financial assets of people who came up with innovative software, violated them, bled them till they were broke fighting them for the rights to their work.

Occasionally, some rival of Microsoft or else someone pissed off at gates for some reason or another would finance the court costs for one of these people and the judges would give old Bill a legal and financial slapdown.

If you have some fantasy about portraying Bill Gates as some philanthropist (other than the same type of philanthropy duplicated by the Clinton Foundation) you had best only try to sell that garbage to people who barely knew what a computer did in the early eighties.

No sale.

I hated MS-Dos. I don't like Windows. I know that Gates (and Jobs, and Ellison, and just about any other tech billionaire you care to mention) were ruthless cutthroat businessmen -- or, we wouldn't remember who they were. Now that we're agreed about that -- so what?

We're talking about Gates the philanthropist. I have been following the B&L Gates Foundation work, for over a decade. I'm very impressed with how they do things. Perhaps, I'm less impressed, sometimes, with what things they do.

With regard to present-day philanthropy (which is what we're discussing) -- IMNSHO Gates is the real deal.

He is doing a great job there along with Senator Tim Scott they are building opportunity zones in black communities everywhere!! Dr. Carson grew up in the ghetto and he has always wanted to have an impact trying to change things there he actually requested that position!! Trump offered him several different positions but that was where he wanted to be!!

I kind of don’t see intentionally ignoring the law as just ruthless. In this case I rightfully don’t see it as different in any way than burglary.

No, I am not going to join you in the belief that giving away the stolen money makes it okay.

There are other things that could be said about all the people who died in India due to the reckless way Gates and his partners pushed use of their inadequately developed polio vaccine, or my view that the population control policies Gates pushes (which go far beyond abortion) are an abomination.

You and I are already at an impasse because your position would require me to excuse how Gates made part of his money, and I will never just toss my ethical standards away like that.

The Man’s a thief. A thief who had lots of money and lawyers yes, but still a thief.

Definitely seems that way since it’s apparently a taboo subject.
