yes, chloroquine is inflammatory which is exactly what you want to avoid. Hydroxychloroquine is an anti-inflammatory.

There are numerous reports of one, very substantial side effect from the administration of hydroxychloroquin to china Virus patients...

“Good. More for us.”
indeed ... for days the evil stream media has been gloating that supporters of President Trump are going to die because of listening to his “lies”, whereas the truth of the matter is that the ignorant, the stupid, and other Democrats are going to die when they believe the insane lies coming out of the evil stream media, which is content to help kill off their own viewers if that someone would get rid of President Trump ...

Strange this seems to be the only place having this concern.
From the opriginal article linked at the Newsweek article.
>Chloroquine is still given at the major hospitals in Stockholm.<

“Severe side effects”. Why such a thing has never happened with approved medicines used in compliance for the diseases it is labeled to treat.

They’re very similar but not exactly the same.

Hydroxychloroquine
I wish I had that option years ago. Malaria Monday sucked. Specifically the cramps. Hundreds of mosquito bites a day and no Malaria. Cramps beat violent shaking and permanent infection always.
The title of the article is the tell. "Some Hospitals."
I don't know why people post Newsweek. It is nothing but a low level blog these days.

Re; Are they going to stop it for lupus and arthritis patients too?
If they suffer severe side effects, yes, they should.
One wonders how the doc with the largest lupus practice in the US (Dr. Daniel Wallace) got so lucky. He says he’s prescribed it for 42 years with zero hospitalizations necessary due to side effects. Yet a few other docs hit these major side effects in the first few days of trying it. How odd.

This aticle might be old
It says,
" bone marrow leading to reduced white blood cells (leukopenia) or platelets (thrombocytopenia) and abnormal red blood cells (anemia)."
bone marrow has no effect on your white blood cells or any other immunity cells. This has been proven untrue recently. it was widely believed for a very long time.

Severe side effects. Why such a thing has never happened with approved medicines used in compliance for the diseases it is labeled to treat. Such as cautions re anti-depressants..."may cause suicidal thoughts" etc?
There is no ethical or humane reason to not approve the drug, or at least make it an option.
