Interesting racial data out of NYC today showing Asians are dying at 20% the rate of other races.
And there were 10,000 international athletes in Wuhan for the military games in October 2019.
San Francisco is most certainly the sidewalk feces capitol of the USA, but it is NOT a COVID-19 "hot spot", with only 622 cases and 9 deaths. Even Los Angeles, the 2nd largest city in the USA, has only 7,025 cases and 173 deaths. Obviously these people brought this virus with them coming home from China, but for some reason, many Chinese in CA self quarantined. In fact, CA was tracking some 700 people under self quarantine long before anyone was taking this seriously. NY didn't seem to care.
International air travel is how diseases move from one part of the world to another. After the current crisis, flights will resume, stupidly.
Multiple nonstops between China and Detroit Metro.
I know that for a fact.
It’s fascinating studying how the 1918 flu traveled around the world. I found a website recently that tracked its spread through time. Without any international air flights (obviously), the flu still spread quickly on ships through crews and passengers. A transoceanic voyage was probably 7 - 10 days, not 7 - 10 hours like today. But fast enough for an infected but asymptomatic person to board and then be ragingly ill when arriving at the destination.
and your point is?
Let’s see...Asians die at a very low rate compared to other races. China has 1/4 million people in Wuhan immediately before this new, never before seen virus is unleashed on the world.
Hmmm...let me rephrase for you: 2 + 2 = ??
If you wanted to bring the US (and the rest of the world) to its knees....
When the antibody test becomes widely available it will show some very interesting patterns. Maybe CA is not surging in cases now because so many people already had it and are now immune. We need that information.

I came down with it/whatever, 2 days before Thanksgiving and may have passed it to a 50+ year old son, who never gets sick, and a 19+ year old grandson. The grandson missed a free lunch, due to what he had. The son missed more days at work in Jan/Feb than has in about 12 years.
My energy level didn’t come back until about a month ago. My taste buds seemed to semi working. I had shortness of breath, that is finally ebbing and the coldest feet at bedtime, ever. In fact my wife of 59 years warmed up my feet in bed with her feet, a total reversal. Last night I warmed up her feet with mine. Off and on I had a headache, I have about 2 per year normally associated a cold or allergies. I had a mild fever a couple of times during this seige.
What is your point?
Yes, because they do with their willing accomplices in the rest of the leftist media.
I am going to be very interested to watch how the MSM accomplishes this if it turns out that HCQ + zinc or Zpack really does cure many people with the C-virus. The MSM has been very open and loud in attacking Trump for promoting it. Their audiences have surely seen these attacks. If the meds work, the best that the MSM can do is just never mention it again. ...which they have done in many other contexts where they were wrong.
“The anecdotal data/info is a lot of us in California/West Coast caught something in late November/December and took weeks to shake it.”
Including me in Orange County. I felt short of breath through most of January and February and whatever it was didn’t respond to my asthma meds. It was nagging but never bad enough to send me to the doctor except for an earache. No cough. No fever. It finally went away on its own in early March.
Maybe it could have been a mild case of Covid, who knows. It was certainly odd. When I did see my GP a week ago he suspected asthma, but I’ve never had asthma that felt like that. I’ll want to get the antibody test if that ever becomes available and see if I’m positive.
I posted about this a few weeks ago. I went to my niece’s Convocation (about 250 students at the event) in Iowa on December 20th. Had a contingent of Chinese families sitting right behind us, including one guy who was coughing constantly.
So...I became very ill (go to my past posts if you want to see details).
About a month ago, I looked at the program for the convocation....there were about a dozen students from China...a couple were from Wuhan. Multiply that by thousands of times at Colleges everywhere for December graduations.
Also, right around the time that President Trump instituted the travel ban a group of potential “students” from China showed up (completely unannounced) at one of our local colleges wanting a tour. Who does that? This private college sent them away, sanitized anything that they had been around & put out a press release about the situation. That seemed REALLY odd to me at the time.
That story about the Chinese students suddenly showing up for a tour is weird.
A couple of more additions to the crud I had:
1. None of our wives or granddaughters had this crud.
2. Impacted 3 generation of males, me ~ 81, son ~ 52,
grandson turned 19 during the crud in late Feb.
3. Males in all age groups, we know but were not in
close personal contact had various levels of the crud.
Again no women. The young ones were over it in a week.
4. One of the males in #3 labeled it the Comcast/AT&T crud.
We were not in close personal touch, or zero, yet we had
crud from just before or after Christmas. So he joked, We
transmitted and got this crud via the internet/phone.
5. #1 complaint: Shortness of breath!
#2 complaint: zero energy
6. #3 complaint: Lower GI
7. #4 complaint: Some of the senior guys had blood in urine.
Bump
