They are clever and resourceful farmers. I’ve seen it. And they do get the benefits of Israeli methods, such as drip irrigation of gray water. But they do not have the creative spark needed to do original, scientific, industrial agriculture of their own. Whatever they do, they either learned from their fathers, such as terracing hillsides and cultivating wadis, or from the Israelis, and often they must plow with mules or with old, jury-rigged tractors.
