While such B1/B2 “border crossing cards” are officially recreational, Reuters spoke to nearly two dozen residents of Tijuana, Nogales and Ciudad Juarez who use their cards to reach jobs or to care for relatives on the U.S. side of the frontier.

Yet another issue exposed by all this. A person crossing into these US on a short-term visitor visa, is not, as far as I know, eligible to work here! And caring for relatives? I doubt there's very many old people here with the only relative caretakers in Mexico. If anything, it's the illegal kids here, and the old folks still in Mexico.
