I’m in an essential field so I’ll be working.
So Andy Griffith, Aunt Bee, Opie and Deputy Barney Fife could read the Bible, sing and play guitar and piano, play checkers and board games and eat fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy with biscuits and honey, then choice of cherry pie or chocolate cake.
North Carolina quarantine wasn’t so bad. Then.
In Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer specified marijuana stores and abortion centers as essential to be kept open. Churches, synagogues and mosques to be closed if ten people enter. They are locked up now.
I have to wonder now if this is in part politically motivated. Much of the rest of the country will be emerging from quarantine a couple of weeks before that.
And I don’t see western North Carolina (mountains) as any kind of hot spot for the virus.
Looking for federal tag-a-long concurrence on a state state-of-emergency to get matching federal funds.

Don’t be surprised if all those other states extend their orders into May. Some of these experts are saying we won’t hit our peak for another 3 weeks.

The spring break crowd has just made its way back home.
NYC and NY downstaters are heading south fleeing the city.
After Easter, most of the snowbirds head north, which will be just about as the infection rates from the spring break crowd are starting to ramp up or peak.
So there's a lot of transmission being spread over a period of a couple months, which will drag this out even further.
The time to stock up again is now, in the lull before people realize what is coming.
At the very least, it won't hurt to be sure.
I know it's not optimistic, but that's my suspicion about what's about to play out.

So if I tell them to piss off, what can they do? Seriously it’s 32 miles round trip to the base, I am going to the exchange tomorrow. Who decides what is necessary travel? All our stores are open? I am seriously asking how can they enforce this?
Stupid, just stupid. Even Cuomo walked back his quarantine BS today.
My mom has a little family in Murphy.
