Hubby and I went for a walk the other day. Other folks were, too. We all kept our distance while waving and smiling. Talked to our neighbors from 10 feet away. Had a nice yak. We did see a party breaking up at a neighbor’s house. We didn’t call the cops.
We’re seeing some people walking or bicycling in our area, but certainly less than I would have expected for this time of the year. We’re in an area of roughly 110 new homes (2017-2020) where the remaining handful of house builds are completing. While not a retirement tract per se, there are quite a few older folks moving into this housing district. We’ve seen two such couples move in the past two weeks. Well, they’ve moved in, having seen the moving vans, but we haven’t seen the couples. I suspect they’re taking the lockdown directive seriously. It may be weeks or months before we actually meet and talk with some of these new neighbors.
All the hoopla is about, at least nominally, about the timing of when you get Corona, not if. Let everyone not in an at risk group get it. Once herd immunity is obtained the at risk will be much less vulnerable.
yes
Bingo!
Probably why the Dem guv in CT last night made it illegal to congregate in more than groups of five. Five!
While statewide there are no more than two dozen deaths linked to the coronavirus so far.
So, if your family is bigger than 5 ( mine is )...?
Nice to see people enjoying Spring outdoors. Our Governor is becoming a Little Dictator, though, and starting to tighten the noose...
Really, now—family-member hoarding?
I guess it’s clear only the 5 youngest are legal now...
They still do this (although not this year) in the little tiny town we lived in in Northern VA (Loudoun County). Teams sat on haybales in trailers towed by pickup trucks. The kids loved it!
But the fear-mongers tell us to stay in out houses.
..
I am attending a virtual happy hour tonight. I guess it beats drinking alone!
A reverse image search on google says this photo was taken in Aug of 2014.
Our neighborhood is becoming a nice place. One neighbor, who is now home with her kids asked my mom and dad how do they homeschool us, since she is trying to keep her kids doing their lessons. Mom said, We don’t, they do it. True, we do learn without help. Mom did help her today and Monday and Tuesday next week.
Saw a flyer in my neighborhood advertising this. Never saw such a thing before.
