I don’t think the Kennedy Center was ever profitable. Since the beginning in the ‘60s it has always relied on a government subsidy. BTW, check out the Strathmore. It’s a much better venue for music. I lprefer the BSO, the National Philharmonic, and the Washington Bach Consort better than the NSO at the Kennedy Center anyway.
