This isn't even a vote to pass the stimulus bill.

The democrats are holding up a vote for cloture on it-to limit debate on it to 30 hours before voting to pass it.

Nancy came back after taking her week long vacation, and wants to pass her own bill

Good catch, but it’s a feel good thing. And cementing the dems pictures up with its denial that keeps the current problem moving the wrong way psychologically along with the mathmatics, is a sure way to hammer them. Make sure the GOP sticks those pictures of those “feel good about their people” actors on every billboard in the US.

Make them live up to their own efforts. Saul Alinsky’s rules for radicals:

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” Goose/gander.

Good idea,

And President Trump should state at the press conference if they don’t come up with a bill now Pelosi and the rest will all be sent to Gitmo to work it out.

That would make too much sense. Just the dollar amount says they are willing to commit to much longer than they are asking us to isolate.

So if all the Senate Republicans got sick they could not vote thus nullifying the representation of their states/constituents?

Seems like there should be some provision maybe teleconferencing.

-- This isn't even a vote to pass the stimulus bill. --

It's one step further removed than what you suggest. This was a cloture vote to limit debate on a motion to take up the bill.

Handing out billions makes no sense. Yes, let's just go into a total liquidity lockdown. Let's start foreclosing and evicting anyone who cannot pay. Just have the Sheriff start auctioning properties now.

That will destroy the wealth of the US faster than anything short of nuking everything and leaving DC standing to fix it all.

Even at 30% unemployment, 70% are still in the workforce.

A dollar sent to someone with a job is a dollar unavailable to the unemployed.

I agree with that. right now, hubby and I are working from home - he’s a data dude and I’m an accountant. We don’t NEED checks! Neither does anyone still getting a paycheck.

My job is safe, but my husband owns a business that employs 5 people. We can shut it down today and ride out this virus at home in the country. Cows to eat. If it got super bad, there are feral hogs that need to be killed. We planted a big garden this year. Yes, I live in the country! Why don’t we shut it down? Those 5 employees! They work so hard for us and we want to help them, but we don’t have enough money to support all of those families with no revenue. We are taking this day by day. Today, they had work. There is not one case of the virus in my county or neighboring counties. Praise God.

Mitch McConnell is on the senate floor saying that the democrats are holding things up because they want things like tax credits for solar and wind.
And also limits on emissions for airlines...

The senate requires 60 votes to break the filibuster, so even if the coupla senators that are quarantined show up and vote, they still need 7-8 demonRATS.

Not if it helps banksters, CEOs and the airlines.

Send checks directly to taxpayers, not one damned cent for companies like United which spent billions buying back stock instead or responsibly saving for such a contigency.

Wild! Schumer objects to lifting quorum! Got burned by his own antics. He would not let Collins or Schumer speak. Collins objected to Schumer’s unanimous consent request to lift the quorum call.

Voice votes on two motions, then an hour of debate on motion to reconsider the cloture vote taken yesterday.

Most dysfunctional deliberative body on the planet.
