What happened to the old doctor adage...” If it works for ya, take it.

Yes, about $20 at GoodRX prices. Old-fashioned quinine made from tree bark I got for roughly the same price as the synthetic drug.

While Dr. Fauci’s use of the word ‘anecdotal’ may be a commonly understood term within his scientific community he failed to realize two things when speaking before the nation:

1) He came across, perhaps unintentionally, as sounding dismissive. While he may have been precise in a scientific sense the “take away” for many Americans was one of a somewhat negative view.

2) If you accept the definition of ‘anecdotal’ as being “evidence collected in a casual or informal manner and relying heavily or entirely on personal testimony”, which I think is how most people would understand and use the term, then perhaps Dr. Fauci should have been more careful with his use of the word knowing that lay persons constituted the vast majority of his audience.

He is a very educated man who has been in his government position for 36 years. By now one would think that he knows enough to be more measured when speaking before the general public, and indeed the world at large.

That said I applaud him for his informative interview on the Levin show last night. He was a reassuring model of clarity.

Wish Levin had asked him why all the recommendations made after the 2009 H1N1 debacle never got implemented in the seven remaining years of the Obama Administration.

Good point. It appeared to me that Levin was taking a nonconfrontational approach either because he was being senstive to the subject of disease or he didn’t want to be criticized by his employer. Recall that Fox recently removed Trish Reagan from her show for saying the “wrong thing”.

I think that is exactly it: slow-walk and happy-talk while the expensive people die. Kill off that 1% of seniors who cost
“the system” money. Be vague, buy time. Wait long enough for that virus to reaaaly get going so its not stoppable for those with the medical conditions.

You’re right. We should completely stop them. And do an experiment with 1000 people in lock-down and socially distanced. Then, in 2 monnths, when the trial is finished, if it is safe for people to lock down and proven PROVEN safe to socially distance, then we should develop a federal program to roll it out in a case by case basis. Because we are VERy careful.

Amen. Let’s hear a big Trump “you’re fired” for Fauxi and for Hahn at FDA.

What people don’t realize is that in 1 month every hospital in the country will be filled.

I laughed when I read the news article about the trials saying that they were going to go at lightning speed and be done in 2 months. The epidemic will have peaked and faded long before they get done.

Is it possible for you to see improvement in your patients after six days?
