Virtually every Muslim country has the virus. Some are not testing too well. But they all have it. They had MERS as well. They started MERS. So I don’t think there is any merit to this article.
What about washing simply for good hygiene? Does Islam prescribe that? According to another sahih hadith, apparently not: "We were with the prophet, and he went to defecate. Food was presented to him upon his return, and he was asked, "O Messenger of Allah, will you not wash?" He replied, "Why? For prayer?" In a slightly different — and more explicit — version, he responded, "I wash only for prayer."

It isn't quite representative. The author of the original article isn't saying Muslims are immune to the virus. That's a distortion. He goes on to make practical suggestions on how to avoid catching or spreading the virus - wash hands, cover face when sneezing, self-quarantine.
But no, you don't want to sneeze into your hand. And Africa is usually in for a world of pain.
