This means he's holding up very important aid, that the President really wants, for a purely symbolic vote on his pet issues.

People who already get paid sick leave from their employer will continue to get that. If the employer doesn't provide it the feds (taxpayers) will.

Paul is notorious for forcing votes on amendments he knows will not pass.

Paul is known for being principled - agree with him or not, he takes a stand and sticks by it, unlike most of the worms in the GOP. I realize principles are something NBC considers toxic, but nevertheless.
