I always wondered how the hell the things passed the car safety/crash regulations. I suspect they got some kind of waiver because they are saving the planet.

Germans are truly insane. They re-elect the Stasi summer camop grad Merkel again and again, and celebrate when she imports 2 million Muslim throatcutters and rapists. Then they ban nuclear power plants, and increase their energy dependence on Russia to 85%. Now they are about to reap the wild wind, as Trump's tariffs force their stale automakers to compete on the open market, and their technology can't even come close to Tesla's.
Auf Wiedersehen, morons. It's over. Sad.

And the software can be (no doubt already is) rigged to be able to A) locate the vehicle via GPS and B) decelerate, pull over, and shut down while the SWAT teams are on the way.

Well they actually survive quite well... in terms of keeping the passenger compartment from being compromised in a collision... but human body can only decelerate so fast sustaining life threatening injuries...
IE look at the Earnheart crash... doesn’t appear all that rough compared to wrecks people have waled away from in NASCAR, but he was going fast enough that the instantaneous deceleration of hitting the wall slammed his brain into his skull and that was basically it.

Protestors in Germany get judge to delay construction of Tesla factory. And the Czechs or Poles will whisper to Elon, "Hey, come on over here - we don't put up with that crap." and he will tell the Germans, "See ya."

Carmakers face huge fines next year if they fail to cut their fleet emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2)... Looks like the Eco-Fascist-Commies have won this round...

Well, TSLA is up $42 right now, which is actually about $16 off its high for the day. And by high, I mean, thus far. The all-time was on the 4th (two weeks ago) and the final hour of so that day had an $80 range. Apropos of nothing, that was also the day I ran out of Zantac.

The only thing sustainable about "green" politics is the politics, because that's the only thing politicians want sustained.
