This is just another example of why the republic is dead. The left absolutely will not allow the rule of law in this country. They will never back down peacefully.
The only possible salvage is to split the country up. Can that be done peacefully? I don’t see how. We are talking about a titanic upheaval that would take decades to normalize.

If this new operation is focused on truly bad guys, murderers, rapists, thieves, DUI drivers they will get support from most citiens and most non-citizens alike.
But if this new operation indiscriminately grabs those who sit beside us in church then it will backfire.
This all sounds tough but it’s a weak solution. Why aren’t those elected officials violating federal law by aiding illegal aliens being arrested?
We should treat sanctuary cities the same way we deal with with virus infected cities like Wu Han - no one from that city gets to travel anywhere else in our country.
Watch how fast the city rids itself of the sanctuary virus when we do that.

(i) domestic violence has occurred to such an extent that the constituted authorities of the State or possession are incapable of maintaining public order; and

(B) suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy if such insurrection, violation, combination, or conspiracy results in a condition described in paragraph (2).

It's the authority JFK and Eisenhower used to nationalize the National Guard in Alabama and Kansas. And to enforce Brown vs Board of Education. The Insurrection Act was updated in 2008 as shown above. It's rock solid federal law with enormous precedent.
Hillsborough County, FL needs to be added to that list. It's a sanctuary county by virtue of the sheriff, Chad Chronister, who in obeyance to his father-in-law, the multi-billionaire construction industry magnate Edward J DeBartolo, has ordered all deputies to not enforce Florida criminal law statutes, and to ignore property crimes and other violations committed by illegals and anyone with a Hispanic last name in this county.
Hillsborough is the county within which the city of Tampa is located. DeBartolo is almost as wealthy as Trump. Makes one wonder. Besides having a son-in-law who is on the public payroll as the County Sheriff, DeBartolo has tremendous labor expenses on his nation-wide construction projects. So he benefits from the illegals being allowed to work for him without ICE or any other federal agency troubling them.
The illegals know this and are incredibly arrogant toward U.S. citizen residents of Hillsborough County because of it. Judges and lawyers in this county are also in DeBartolo's silk-lined pockets. Believe it. I know from personal experience.
In the 2018 election the media down here very cleverly concealed Chronister's marital connection to the DeBartolo family dynasty from the electorate, so the voters just swept him in, not knowing a damned thing about him. Because the local county Republican Party let him run on their ticket.
Our middle-class neighborhood is being destabilized by illegals who have been allowed to purchase homes here and who encroach on the property rights of U.S. citizen homeowners with impunity because Hillsborough County deputies are under orders to not enforce the law.
