FWIW, I personally believe Nellie Ohr wrote much of the Dossier and that she is a Russian operative along with the LOT of them: Brennan, Comey, Hillary, Obama, Clapper, blah blah blah.. All compromised by the Russians and MANY of them because of THE KING OF ENTRAPMENT AND SEXUAL BLACKMAIL, JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

If anything, the Russians probably hoped Trump would win, so they wouldn’t have a homosexual advocate, but instead a man who saw them as a potential anti-Isis ally, and someone not determined to go to war with them. But like all rational people, outside the United States especially, they judged that Hillary would probably win. The last thing they wanted to do was enrage her and have eight years of hell for supporting Trump during the campaign. So Russia pretty much stayed completely out of it and hoped for the best.

That is plausible. Diana West in her book “RED THREAD” makes the case that they all have a communist ideology mindset. Plus, Comey’s mentor that he idolized had the philosophy of “there is no real right or wrong”.
They were all in place just waiting on Hillary to take power. Then bad things would have been coming our way.
Putin hated Hillary Clinton; he accused her of inciting the 2011 protests of the Russian election.
Whether that was enough to spur Putin to side with Trump in the 2016 US election is an open question, but Putin was not keen on Hillary becoming president.

It’s entirely predictable that Hillary’s servants in the NYT and Politico would attempt to establish a fabricated cover as in the articles you posted.
The first time I heard rumblings of the Russia collusion hoax was in the Friday or possibly Saturday night before the 2016 election. James Carville was being interviewed. He looked like a kindergarten student who had missed his nap time after somebody peed in his chocolate milk.
Yelling at the interviewer, it was clear Carville knew Hillary was going to lose.
“It was the KGB! The KGB!” he screamed.
So obviously Carville’s tantrum was real. His accusations were fake, however.
We all know it was Hillary, as well as Obama, who were selling out our country to the Russians. Their accusations that Trump did the same thing is an example of one of their stock, formulaic tactics: blame your opponent for the crimes you in fact commit. It’s part of the satanic, opposite game. Ultimately a low IQ strategy.
