Still waiting on that magic electric chariot
that will run at 80 mph with the A/C running
full bore, and cover a distance
of 700 miles in under 12 hours.
Do these idiots realize there are great
expanses of territory in the west where
it’s sometimes more than a hundred miles between
towns?
At this point in a electric vehicle’s progession,
I can’t help but think their agenda is being
able to control where and how far you can travel.

Levin declined to give a specific cost estimate, but said that "it'll cost a lot of money to put all these chargers in place." He said "we'll see" how much will be paid for by taxpayers and how much hosts will pay.

And did the FedGov ever help pay to install any gas stations? (Obviously not including those on military bases and such.) Why should FedGov (or anything lower) be spend MY tax dollars on constructing a private company's assets? If enough people decide they want to buy an electric car, the market will start installing plug-in stations on its own!

NET: drive in and park. dock and authenticate. Swap your battery and drive away when the light goes green. Zoom zoom.

And who is responsible for any damage to the batteries? How can you prove it's the car owner's fault (I assume this process means the battery rack will be a not-user-accessible area) when they don't do anything to that part of their car? What happens when one battery goes bad on its own, from age or happenstance?

You say built to industry standards. What is the standard? Are all current EVs even on the same voltage system? Are all Teslas even built to the same voltage? (Hint: they're not.) Are we gonna force manufacturers to redesign so everyone runs a 400V system? (Note, while almost all regular cars have a 12V system, some, especially bigger work trucks, use a 24V system in the vehicle.) But even if we do manage to unify operating voltage, now we gotta come up with a quick-release connector that's in the same spot and of the exact same connector. What if that's not the best location for some vehicle designs? What happens when someone comes up with a better one? Whose connector design do we pick, and why should they get to stay the same while everyone else has to change? Are they licensing their patented designs, or are they forced to give it free to everyone else? What happens if one company (like Apple) refuses to go along and has to always come up with their own plugs?

How can I trust the new battery and parts I'm getting?I know for propane, I much prefer to refill MY good tank, then just exchange it for a tank of unknown quality / history.
