There is a guy on my favorite leftist forum that started a thread about their fears that Trump will sign an executive order eliminating term limits for presidents. And they are serious. :D

He has NO CHANCE at winning Alabama NONE so he doesn’t give a damn Sessions will win Alabama in a landslide!!! Say what you want about Sessions he was a great conservative senator he was in way over his head running the cesspool at DOJ!!! I don’t think he had any idea what the hell he was walking into OR just how badly Obama had weaponized the department!!!
—-
And then he recused himself, and when Mueller was appointed he - and the President - were basically blocked from investigating without interfering with the Mueller clown show.

The main motivation of the Democrats and nevertrumpers is preventing Trump from ever having a “win”, and failing that (which happens a lot), making each win as painful and protracted as possible.

I’d expect a unified Democrat party on the acquittal to keep Trump from using the word “bipartisan” to describe his acquittal and also to keep the real purpose of impeachment (smearing republican senators up for election this november in attack ads) valid.

Jones added that Trump's actions "demonstrate a belief that he is above the law"

Jones, you are not above the law. You may not convict a citizen of a non-crime. There is no crime alleged by statement of statue, there is no crime grounded in legal axioms* nor ancient common law**. There is no wanton abuse for which a 2/3 bipartisan majority agrees is, while not enumerated as illegal, nonetheless so plainly egregious as to warrant overturning the lawful election.

Per tagline: Democrats oppose democracy.

Had Biden not committed & admitted gross corruption, he would not have been the obvious means to "show Ukraine is committed to investigating & eradicating corruption."

Democrats are bent on convicting Trump of ... obeying the law. Kangaroo courts convicting on partisan unpopularity is evil.

* - "perjury" is so fundamental a crime it need no additional legislation to declare it criminal, hence laws addressing it were not mentioned in Clinton's Articles of Impeachment. Nonetheless, Bill persisted.

** - some crimes have been declared & understood such for so long they need not be codified to yet be actionable. This was Dershowitz's point re: "crime-like".

Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.), viewed as the most vulnerable Senate Democrat running in November, said on Wednesday that he will vote to convict President Trump on both articles of impeachment.

Past time to defeat this bastard and send him home to discuss why he hates the President who works for free,24/7, to MAGA!

So perhaps he is angling for a job and needs to stay in line for his payoff.

Yup, this decision by Jones is about remaining a loyal party member in good standing with the hope of some token job in the future.

He’ll be gone in November and he knows it hes doing this to curry favor with the Democratic Party because he will not be a senator after November.

Sessions wasn’t “over his head as AG”. He is deep state. He still could be a good senator just like some other good deep state senators. But he isn’t “america first”. BTW I have a good senator that is deep state too. Risch ID

This is just Jones giving Alabama the finger on his way out the door.

Maybe Jones can have Pelosi and her faux impeachment thugs and Scmucker to come down and campaign for him.

I am with you on that HOWEVER Sessions is a solid conservative senator who CAN WIN, WILL WIN I would LOVE to take a chance on someone new but that someone new might put Jones back in the seat Sessions is a definite WIN!!! If we don’t get the house back there WILL BE another impeachment these people are INSANE and FULL OF HATE!! Trump is undoing DECADES of what they have done to this country!!!

That is not news to me. I knew that he would vote to convict President Trump all along. But a majority of the people of Alabama voted for the bastard.
