Lots of youngish Chinese quants come work for our major financial firms as risk analysts or chief risk officers, which has always seemed exceedingly risky to me.
I have seen them work here a few years and then go home.
I like thatespecially since the years left in life are unknown.
So, 5 years off of 100.
Why in hell do we allow ANY Chinese into ANY sensitive U.S. program or facility? They are consummate thieves (hence the age-old term “Chinese Bandits”).
Even though they stay here for economic reasons, they have zero loyalty and affection for this country, and are easily recruited.
The penalty for treason is death as I recall. Get on with it.
He should have never been employed in a sensitive job. Do stupid things, win stupid prizes.
Collectively, we are simply stupid. We have allowed EEO and social correctness to destroy us.
Why is the Canadian side of Niagara Falls nice and the US side a cesspool?
Hang him!
How much money does Raytheon make if we have to gear up for a war with China?
That only works if the Chinese have geared up for a war with the US.
Get with the plan.
A “Chinese born American citisen” .....you CAN NOT trust these people. Don’t hire them into any security positions. Their loyalties will always go to their homeland
“Therefore just dont hire them.”
Agreed. They don’t keep tabs on former citizens, these people are here to steal intellectual property. Also, China has an active group on the ground in the US with the goal to steal IP. Years ago, I was helping a small hardware startup and met with a man from China about manufacturing in China. He had some legit Internet companies in the United States. Anyway, the warning signs went up when he said he could get our prototype into the C-Suite of all the major manufacturers and we would have to share source with them. It turns out in a previous capacity he was very high up in the com party. We went with Flex.
Becoming a naturalized citizen of our country is now primarily done to further advance a career or as a convenience, we should now require military service as part of the naturalization process to weed these people out, along with outlawing multiple nationalities...
But then employers would have to hire natural born citizens, which is against the modern ethos of the subverted free labor market.
Don’t arrest him... Just disappear him... Libya is nice this time of year...
Loose and inaccurate wording. His laptop contained sensitive data, not classified.
HONG KONG, July 25, 2019 Bain Capital today announced the merger of ChinData, a leading Chinese operator of campus-style, hyperscale data centres, and Bridge Data Centres, a wholesale and custom build data centre company, to form one of the leading pan-Asian data centre platforms. The new parent Company, ChinData Group, will continue to operate under the ChinData and Bridge brands respectively. Bain Capital acquired ChinData in May 2019 from Wangsu Science & Technology Co. Ltd and has owned Bridge Data Centres since 2017.
He wasn't. A classified computer could only be couriered by a card-carrying courier from one facility with secure storage to another facility with secure storage. That's it. There is no "taking it home" - period. When you courier, you don't stop for fast food, you don't stop for gas, bathroom, nada. You make a beeline from point A to point B.
I have a close associate that works there. Company policy is that even "normal" - ie. unclassified company laptops do not leave the country. If you are travelling outside the US, you are given a loaner laptop. You do not access company networks from it while overseas, or after. When you return, it is wiped. I'm not sure but I believe any company proprietary info on the computer is heavily encrypted.
Who the hell does he think he is? Hillary or Bill Clinton?
“Customs seized his company owned laptop at Logan, ...”
Minor point: the article you linked says the laptop was seized at JFK.
I was going from memory. He didn’t get out of the country with it.
