We don’t know the deathtoll. China’s munucupalities are hiding the spread of the virus. It is bad for the CCP and worse for local officials. They have ordered doctors not to test people, but to send them home. And cadavers aren’t being tested. No test, no Wuhan virus case.
It’s because you got the flu shot. You should have asked for the anti-flu shot!

the flu or the flu shot. I never get
either. Never had shingles/pneumonia/whooping cough vaccine either.
Had MMR as a kid.
As I said we don’t know the numbers until we do we really don’t know anything.
They claim it is airborne and is contagious during the incubation stage.
If those 2 things are true there is little doubt the infection numbers are far far higher than the 1100 stated. In a city of 12 Million, an airborne virus with a high infection rate will have almost certainly spread to tens of thousands on the low end.
The mortality rate is the big question.
Right now we don’t know much, we do know as I said they have identified, isolated and sequenced it. If it is bad as the doomsday folks are claiming it will be evident soon. A virus with a near 100% infection rate and airborne transmission won’t take long to spread worldwide.
Treatment is another big variable, if it turns out that existing drugs or treatments that haven’t been tried work, they will be quickly shared.
Time will tell.

There are the beginning rumors that this was a lab created disease. Not likely, as 6 of the first 7 patients were vendors at the Wuhan seafood market . They sell bats there for food.

This virus shares 80% of the SARS virus, its closest relative. It has a 96% match with a known virus in fruit bats. Snakes are not the origin.

This virus is much weaker than SARS but has some unusual traits. It is an RNA rather than a DNA virus like smallpox. That means that it mutates very quickly. Current patients are showing a 4th generation mutation from the original patients amonth ago.
