Shut it down! There is no constitutional right to USA citizenship just for being born on American soil. Indeed the framers of the Constitution wrote it very carefully to make this clear.

“and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” is what exempts those with a diplomatic passport. Also invading armies. Not much of anyone else.

The CORRECT answer is that unless at least one parent is a U.S. Citizen, NOT permanent resident, student, tourist, or border jumper, the kid DOES NOT get automatic citizenship!
