Making light of a situation is not criticizing.
McConnell expected this farce from the moment he found out Pelosi pulled the trigger so this Kabuki theater has been highly expected to occur. You are locked into rules, so you darn well expect the opposition to exploit the rules while smiling all the way while everything is being played out.
As Bob Barr said tonight, the House clowns are introducing hearsay that was not even in the House indictment, a behavior that should have instigated an open, fierce objection from the President’s defense team. The demon rats are being allowed to fabricate a fraudulent case! And the media will amplify the deceit to a shrill level, once again duping the American voters into swallowing the great lies.
Exactly. The Dems are just going to keep abusing the process day after day until they peel off GOP votes to get what they want. And McConnell is going to let the do it because he hates POTUS every bit as much as Schumer does.
Wait till we get 3 days, it might be better to get Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

That could explain why the defense is holding their fire on the Biden situation, as I discussed earlier with another poster. Essentially, the Rats will beat the Rats and the country over the head with this kind of crap twice. While it is understandable for the defense to hold its fire, I would like to hear some blowback now and then so the campaigning aspect of this Rat dog and pony show meets with some resistance, now.
Whatever, the Rat history of helping the Ukraine is inescapable and a sorry contrast to that of the Rats. This impeachment farce is built on a disagreement with policy and points out the Rat's acceptance of questionable behavior on the part of their ex VP's family.

I haven’t heard anything new at all. It’s the same weak arguments we’ve heard a thousand times:
Democrats: Trump withheld vital aid from Ukraine in order to force them to investigate his 2020 political adversary, Joe Biden.
White House: The aid was withheld pending assurances the Ukrainians were dealing with corruption, then it was released and there was no investigation into Biden. Trump’s aid to Ukraine is far more robust than Obama’s blankets. No victim, no motive, no crime.
Democrats: The White House will not allow certain witnesses - he must be hiding something.
White House: President Trump released the transcripts of the calls - total transparency.
Democrats: The President released the aid only after he was caught. It doesn’t count as transparency if you’re caught.
White House: The President doesn’t think he did anything wrong, so it makes no sense to argue that his motivation for releasing the aid was being “caught”. You can’t presume intent or impute motive without evidence.
Democrats: That is why we need to hear from more witnesses.
White House: Then why did you withdraw the subpoenas and decide not to subpoena Bolton? If you need additional evidence why have you called the case air-tight and proceeded with impeachment?

I think the Democrats are the ones being stupid - they are pissing off a LOT of Senators by holding them hostage in that chamber and forcing them to vote on 50 procedural amendments and listen to another pointless, tedious and repetitive Schiff show.
They have introduced the Lev Parnas story into the proceedings this evening. A simple objection by the GOP to keep this nonsense out would have been appreciated.

It worse than that. Today is suppose to be about voting on the rules only. Then, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, eight hours per day the rat party presents their case.
Mitch should have shut this crap down hours ago. This has nothing to do with the rules and voting on them. Why is Mitch allowing this? Who knows but this is breaking the rules Mitch set up earlier. As a result, Mitch is allowing the rats to just talk about anything and everything which has nothing to do with the articles presented to the senate.

Exactly. Schumer pantsed McConnell. Clearly, the mute GOP was not prepared for this subterfuge from the Dems. So much for McConnell’s vaunted “kill switch”. They haven’t even voted on that yet, obviously, while the Dems introduce all kind of facts not in evidence.

The Dems are giving their whole case away before the trial actually begins. They will have to bore everybody to death again with the same lame garbage when it comes time to make their case and Trump’s team will rebut with their as yet unheard arguments.
