The fear is that Taal could erupt with the same force as Pinatubo in 1991. Besides the local damage from all the ash fall, another Pinatubo-sized eruption could cause a decade-long planet-wide climate cooling. In short, California could end up with what happened in the 1990's--several years of above-normal rainfall.

OK, I’m curious as to how Greta Thunberg/Al Gore/AOC/Democrats would attribute this to man-made Climate Change.

Maybe they forgot to feed Taal.

Greta Thunberg would not be happy if we have another Pinatubo-sized eruption, which Taal is capable of. Remember what Pinatubo did in 1991—it caused way above-normal rainfall in California for nearly a decade.

The second one will last longer.

RE: Remember what Pinatubo did in 1991
I remember it very clearly. There were two US bases: Clark Air base ( Air force ) and Subic Bay ( Navy ) not far from the Volcano.
The Philippine Congress already passed a law telling our troops to leave and we were preparing to do that. We left EARLIER than the scheduled date because of Pinatubo’s eruption.

The fear is that Taal could erupt with the same force as Pinatubo in 1991. Yes, a VEI 6 is possible. Has not happened for 5600 years. The volcano has had centuries of VEI 4 or less eruptions, so that is the most likely scenario at this point.

The Flips did not dilly-dally about this, remembering the Mount Pinatubo eruption in 1991.

1991 - a Friend of mine was sent mainland from Clark to Florida right after it happened - they shipped his volcanic fried car to Patrick and we had to figure a way to get it to Tampa...fun time...

I don't know about the carbon - but the ash suspended in the atmosphere will add to cooling. I forget the name of the mega volcano back in the late 1800’s in that neck of the woods. The year without summer for the entire world.
