“Real soon now” used to be a phase for upcoming software updates...
Yes, unless Mitch acts I’ll bet she send them the morning of the SOTU address. The MSM will give her a standing O for being a brilliant tactician.
Get on with it!!!
I used to know science fiction fans and the term for this from Pelosi is a sneering “Real Soon Now.”
I had no idea the term was included in 1962 in Douglas Franson’s book Fandbook 1: A Key to the Terminology of Science Fiction Fandom:
“Real Soon Now - Fannish promise of imminent activity, now has meaning of “far in the future.” Capitals denote sarcasm. “

Looks like she’s down to a couple of days before the Senate voids her petition.
Why is McConnell allowing Pelosi to run the govt? McConnell should dismiss this impeachment. No trial.
I wonder what she thinks is a “fair trial”? In a real trial, the prosecutor will depose all the witnesses they want, and will then provide all the testimony to the defense. At trial, the defense is allowed to question the witnesses, and so deposition testimony is not allowed, unless something happens to a witness like they are no longer available, in which case sometimes that testimony is allowed.
But Impeachment is not quite like a trial. The senate generally accepts the collected testimony from the house, unless the president specifically asks to be allowed to question witnesses (in this case, because they were not allowed to talk to the witnesses during the house hearings).
So, assuming the senate accepts the written record from the house, they will have all the information that the house had, and the house is the prosecutor, and has determined by majority vote that the evidence they had proves their case.
So, what exactly is Pelosi doing in asking for witnesses? Is she saying that the house was not fair, and the senate NEEDS to call the witnesses to allow Trump’s side to question them? Clearly not.
Is she saying that the house failed to get enough information to support their impeachment, but voted for it anyway, and now she expects the Judge/Jury (the senators) to do the prosecution’s job of proving the prosecution’s case? Apparently.
The senate democrats seems to be saying they don’t have enough evidence to convict, and therefore need to hear from additional witnesses.
