Congress may have said flatly...NO.
Leaving him with only a tepid response.
That’s all I can figure.
But the stress/anger was apparent in the speech. He was more uptight than I’ve ever seen him.

Over the last week, the president has put on a clinic in seeking peace while projecting strength. Just don’t expect to find the outcome described that way in the New York Times or on CNN. Iran's Mullahs will be sending a thank you letter to the New York Times, Washington Post, and MSNBC soon...

I hae grumbled about Civil War. Nancy Pelosi; etal, have just sided with our greatest enemy Iran over America simply because they think
orange man bad. This aid and comfort to an enemy that repeatedly chants
death to America is completely beyond the pale.
I have said oveer and over that the Democrats -- and the Muslims -- are acting akin to spoiled children; however, both groups are adults and too old to spank. Stronger measures must be taken!

My point was that congress would restrict him severely.
He has standing authority to respond to attacks.
But once we drop a a few tons, there’s no authority to continue with congressional approval.
Meaning, he has little authority at all.
