Germany tested an air-launched an anti-ship UAV / guided missile in WWII.

The explosion caught on the CCTV looked relatively small, so I think it may have been the “Ninja” or some other smaller missile.

Even the author at the "Army Technology" page doesn't understand units. Thrust is measured in lbf and acceleration is measured in Gs.

I suspe t Solimani was under the mistaken impression that all Americans were like Obama and did not believe that Trump could be a man. There is a large bias in the Muslim world that their god has their enemies under control in a blanket of fear. His open travel is a statement that America is afraid to act.
We like they often make the mistake of judging others by our standards. The Ishmael mindset is a strange dichotomy between fear and rage. The dials are all set to 11. The turmoil within the Jihadi right now must be near typhoon intensity. On one hand, rage at a hero of Islams untimely, on another fear at why their god let him die. Just what is allah saying here?!
Over all is a highly suppressed panic that somehow it is all going south, that allah is signaling their end and their flavor of Islam is found wanting. The drums of doom pound like a migraine, driving them into reckless action.

Heck, I remember the Germans designing/prototyping a giant anti-battleship / infrastructure target shaped-charge warhead UAV based on the FW190 (!!) IIRC.

I would not object to him being advised of an imminent attack, with a classified FISA warrant for monitoring all of his means of communication for the next 24 hours.

I likely wouldn’t have shown up on airport radar. A tricked up air defense radar with alert operators who were expecting a radar contact — different story.

UAV’s — strictly speaking — have been around since the Wright Brothers. But yes, the IAF did a lot of the development work for military recon & decoys. They’re cheap and expendable and allow pilots to avoid some of the more dangerous job assignments.
