I don’t remember hearing that, but if it’s correct, I’m quite good with it. I was in the first Persian Gulf war, and we were pretty sure they stopped too soon. And turned out to be right. My much younger cousins wound up over there, and one of them was killed in 2004. It’s been nearly 15 years since his death, and we’re still over there. I’m seriously hoping none of my grandchildren or their cousins are over there before we’re done. Smashing the Iranian mullahs would be a grand service to perform for the entire world.
It wasn’t his campaign of course, but I do remember him saying he favored drone/special ops type of operations going after the actual bad guys/terrorists then ground wars.
He seems to have kept to that idea
He wasn’t even close to my first choice for President, so I didn’t really keep track of what he was saying until suddenly he was the only one in the race to oppose “She Who Belongs in Jail.” I certainly hope you’re right, and he’s been becoming one of my favorite of all time presidents over the past three years. Whacking Solemani was most assuredly the right thing to do. No doubt in my military mind.
