One of my most vivid childhood memories is of being slammed face first into a large rock by a large wave, then trying to recover myself for a minute, and being slammed face first by another large wave into the same damn rock.

I'm one of those weird people that likes to do desert hiking, especially in southern Utah. When talking to somebody about hiking for the first time, the #1 thing I tell them is: "The desert wants you dead." In a lot of cases, nature is like that.

All heroes, every single one of them. I jumped in a few times during some rough seas and thank God it was not in cold water but was still hair raising to be in a sinking boat trying to save it while in 15 ft seas. That kind of work keeps you honest:)
