Antifa or Jihadi is my guess.
To presume he is antifah is a mistake...and I don’t think people were paying him much mind until the firing began. Perhaps some of th security were watching him but it remains a mystery as of date to what actually this was all about. Speculation is about all there is apart from peope were shot and died. That’s obvious.
I happen to think people are doing quite well at gathering and sharing what they see could have happened. But at best it’s just specultion.
Here is a rant, ignore if you want. There is now no reference to this shooting on the news sidebars here at FreeRepublic. As I have mentioned before, I have no idea why certain moderator decisions are made. I quit posting news a long time ago because of this kind of stuff. This used to be my "go to" news reader but you wouldn't even know about this incident viewing the front page right now.
CNN carried it, and the shooter’s worm food. Munchkins come out and do the happy dance.

Might be the good guy.
The best fix to these situations. Have armed sheepdogs at all times.
Look, caww, you post a lot of great info. here. I have no problem with getting as much solid information and even as much responsible speculation as possible. That’s the #1 reason I come to FR. But dropping suspicion on that poor girl when she quite clearly (to anyone observing the evidence responsibly with potential intent to publicly comment on that detail) just saw her father get gruesomely murdered a few feet away, is, I’m sorry, a borderline evil act itself. At the very least, such “speculation” is highly irresponsible.
We rightly castigate the media for such, and then do not hold ourselves to a higher standard?
Further speculation on events ‘as they are reported’ is not unusual on FR and I don't believe anyone here posts with ‘evil intent’ including myself. Possibilities are presented and the search begins to discover the truth...this is one of the great things about posters here, we offer possibilities and the threads develope as the truth unfolds.
I'm sorry you feel we should wait before posting possibilities when events happen and I think most here understand we do ‘speculate’ and at the same time wait and see what actually proves to be.
Please understand, I did not say your intent was evil, but:
1) "The road to hell is paved with good intentions", and,
2) Only one person has ever walked this earth who has not done something evil. I fall pretty short too, sometimes... :-(
In this case, it would be "Thou shalt not bear false witness..." All us FReepers should keep that one, and what all goes into it, in mind.
You wrote, among other things, "I think the general idea is she knew both the shooter and the victim." Not even "Maybe she knew...", and I'd have a problem with even that because there was from the get-go ZERO evidence of the former, and clear evidence that she'd just seen her Dad get blasted w/ a shotgun at close range. I heard the Daddy! Nooooo...!" the first time I played the vid -- then I ran it a couple more times on "good" headphones* just to be sure, before I posted -- that's what a responsible person would / should do.
*Like I said, a $5 yard sale "rescue" item - I didn't even need to drag out my Sony MDR-V6's - not that I expect most FReepers to own such, or similar. Then again, anyone "analyzing" vids with audio, for public comment, really SHOULD have quality playback gear. (MDR-V6's, used, in good condition, are available on eBay for around $50.) :-)
Again, I have no problem with and even enjoy speculation based on evidence and logic, but you had, what? Some sort of bias?
Also... maybe because I myself have a teenage daughter... I find it disturbing that a person of considerable experience would expect this girl to react as they think she should in such a horrific situation. My God, I've been around a while, and am typically a relatively calm, fairly logical person, including in difficult situations (not quite up to a "Spock" level, but that character is not a bad role model)... and even I am not sure if I'd react rationally if I was standing there and saw someone I loved, murdered (a few feet away and it was probably pretty gruesome.)
I guess all I'm asking is for everyone here to maybe pause, do a little introspection, and be a little more sure before posting comments that have the potential, even if unlikely, for terrible personal harm (think about it) to some innocent person, in this case themselves already a victim, horribly so. That's not to mention the harm this sort of thing can do to this forum. (Think about it.)
Ok?
Have a great day. (Really!)
I will not go further with explanation as you've clearly determined the order and the how to’s of the manner in which you think people should post of an event, I might add one not yet fully reported on details.
... Further each poster gets video and photos in various order and times, and we've all learned later in the threads what is or not, as well as things develop..Additionally what you might have “clearly heard” may not be so when one has just seen photos....or perhaps it wasn't so clear to them in videos.... as the thread posters indicated.
Obviously I do not agree with your assessment written at first...nor do I now in your recent post. Even you had to get a different pair of head phones so obviously you didn't hear too well at first either.
As I've indicated before one of the reasons I love Fr posters is the understanding people have as we post on events...that we're speculating when things aren't clear and sharing what we think....and we certainly don't get things right always until the details come into view more clearly.....that's why most of us read the entire thread if we weren't actively posting. I've posted on revolutions happening and we all corrected each other along the way...and that was expected. Same with the news events, so you're the first I've encountered who has made "intentions" an issue or questioned what should be considered 'responsible' posting or not.
Free Republic is Freedom to not only post as one determines to express themselves but to disagree and even debate...I hope it stays that way.
You apparently don’t realize it, but you are further making my point for me.
Even you had to get a different pair of head phones so obviously you didn't hear too well at first either.
Initially listening on computer speakers, I was almost certain ("95%", if you like), but, damn straight, given the weight of the matter, I went to confirm before I posted! That's what a responsible person does, and by extension, what God instructs, for that matter.
AGAIN, I am fine with speculation with a hint of responsibility, but, are you so oblivious to the harm THIS sort of stuff (hurtful speculation with no basis) creates? This wasn't a knee-jerk first view "Oh, come on, that wasn't a catch!" situation. (!!)
I don't want to and don't have time to argue this forever. But I will again point out this is a VERY public forum, many come here for news and analysis, and maybe we can be, you know (or maybe you don't), 1/10 as responsible citizens as the MSM?
Is that too much to ask?
One other thing, since you have twisted it: I did NOT say you had conscious intent to harm the girl or this forum. I DID ask why you would post such a thing with no basis (also pointing out that expecting someone like that girl to act as you think she should in such a horrendous situation is just ludicrous. She “freaked out”, an entirely understandable reaction, IMO.)
If I glanced out my car window to look at a pretty lady, and ran over a pedestrian, I did not have bad intent toward the pedestrian. But, I was careless, and God and civil society don’t much like that, for good reasons.
Call it what you want - I’d just like to see FR regain a bit more responsibility. As most of your posts do...
THIS instance just bothered me, perhaps because I can imagine my own daughter in such a situation, and what with social media, what might get back to her.
