Come on! They’re good people. I just wish they wouldn’t eat so much. History-wise I’m sue they were slim like every one else at one time.
It is NOT unconstitutional, this Judge got it wrong. Congress needs to fix their laws if they want this.
All wrong my fr-iend. 180,000 Samoans are in the U.S. Mainland to prevent tipping the island into the sea. If they all run to one side, it’s a sure disaster. It’s for their own good.
It also sounds like the tribal policies of American Samoa asked for this special provision to prevent land sales to non-Samoans. If they want to keep that restriction, then they would need to get tribal recognition akin to an Indian Reservation.
Don’t mess with free will. Something tells me 2/3 of Samoa lives here for perfectly reasonable and honorable reasons. It’s how supply and demand works. Why force politics into the fray?
Joke I have heard in the college football circles is the team with the most Samoans wins. Tough, tough players. Think Junior Seau tough.
“The U.S. owns five territories: Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and American Samoa”
Wrong direction, make the other 4 into American nationals just like the Samoans. We don’t need five more democrat States with 10 more democrat senators. Yes, I know the author isn’t suggesting Statehood but follow the slippery slope and that’s where it ends up.
Troy Polamalu wasnt too shabby either.
All?
And you know this how?
It's not a colony, it's a territory.
They make some good football players, so why are they being discriminated against?
Amen. Americans are Americans period. No matter where they are born or live.
My position? We either cede it back to Samoa or grant them birthright citizenship.
US National sounds like an apartheid classification. Its like you can be half of an American which is errant nonsense.
Thats like saying a woman can be a little pregnant. Leave it up to congresscritters to come up with such an offensive status for people born under the American flag.
Geez.
That was my reaction to that argument. Compound bad with more bad?
Nothing against Samoans, but I think we’ve created enough “citizens” in the last few decades.
Let’s halt the massive intake for awhile, clean out those who are not entitled to be here, tighten our immigration laws and procedures, and think things over.
(I could be persuaded to change my mind on this issue if we could export 100 Somalians for every Samoan made a citizen.
Lol, thats what one of our Congressional betters-Hank Tip Johnson-said about US servicemen on Guam. Another Congressional genius, I forget which, but I seem to recall Sheila Lee-Jackson, said that if we could put a man on Mars, we could spend more on entitlements. Gotta love these politicians who know better than the peons.
Exactly. The left cant persuade the voters, so theyre trying for a new electorate.
The disenfranchised transgendered Samoans for Climate Change, are just screaming for social justice.
A brilliantly made up position.
The Mexican population (illegals, families of illegals, and the legal immigrants and families of legal residents and families of US citizens up and down the Rio Grande River, the New Mexican border and interior districts, and the AZ and California southern districts are dominating EVERY local political race into democrat extremist strongholds.
The “handlers” of the local voting process do not tolerate democrat dissent, investigations, prosecutions nor republican voters.
