The constitution allows for each house to set their own rules. See US Const. Art. I, Sect. 5, 2. Enforcing the rule, unless it violates another part of the constitution, is as good as a constitutional mandate in this case.
The Senate can and should simply declare that the so-called house alleged offenses are not treason, bribery, or high crimes or misdemeanors, and therefore not impeachable offenses. Thus, there is no impeachment and no need for a trial.
