More unintended consequences of not-so-well-thought-out policies.

This is a common trait running through liberal ideas and legislation.

The true minimum wage is ZERO.

Socialist believe business get to keep every dollar spent in their business. They don’t seem to understand that a person is in business to make a profit. Profit is what is left after all the expenses are paid.

By mandating a minimum wage the business owner only has three choices. Raise prices, cut other expenses (and that may be an employee), or go out of business.

The problem with raising prices is that their customers may decide that their product has become too expensive and stop buying. If they cut other expensive then their service will suffer and their customers will stop coming into their business.

This is not brain surgery. Capitalism works best with few laws and regulations. The market will determine price and cost. Whenever a government tries to control the market, the market fails (or nations fail, I am talking to you Soviet Union and Venezuela )

I predict the tax base for Seattle will go down as businesses close and people move away.

Lefties don’t want people working, they want them unemployed and wards of the state.

minimum-wage experiment.

It is not an experiment. It is an agenda.

They are determined to turn America into a socialist disaster, and they don't care the collateral costs.

My wife and I eat in restaurants where we pick up our food when it’s ready. No tipping and prices have remained reasonable.

TN hasn’t been hit with this yet, but small businesses are downsizing anyway. Extra charges to make a pizza and deliver. Banks closed Drive Thrus. And if you are over 40 forget it. I’m not paying $30 for a delivered Pizza, Digiorno’s will have to do. We rarely eat out, but when we do we SPLIT a meal, drink water, not that $3 glass of colored water they called Ice Tea that has no taste.

“When rent is too high, labor costs too much, and customers don’t want to pay $40 for a roast-chicken entree, the only way for many operators to ease the pain is to close.”

Well, there’s always the owner-operated food trucks! But I’m sure the Seattle Department of Health will begin harassing those too.

You and Douglas can move your restaurant to Suwanee Georgia under the condition that you leave your liberal politics behind. We are so hurting for good restaurants.

Any time a business in Seattle closes down and a lib looses it’s job, it’s a good thing.
