Amen
You cannot bring all civilizational timelines into parity overnight relatively speaking
With blacks it feels like weve gone backwards
When they were emulating whites they were more functional even if somewhat oppressed electorally
Whites who lived near large concentrations of blacks were concerned by what they observed then as now only then they acted on it or at least recognized it
Now we ignore it and instead believe in myths and enable and reward and even emulate the dysfunction we observe in the black community
And our obsession with guilt over anything non white or non Christian also makes it impossible to deal with immigration or Islam effectively
One can look around and see obvious patterns but dare not speak except in hush times without fear of recrimination
Fear of racism is in essence the new religion and its anchored now by homosexual rights and so on
Its a worldwide issue for western civilization
The Chinese suffer no such stupid self doubt...Lol
“In fact, as I recall, Lincoln went through several before he finally found Sherman who was willing to engage Lee head on.”
Not Sherman. Sherman never faced Lee on a battlefield.
Sherman fought in the western theater against the two Johnstons and Hood.
Once he was given command Lee went through McClellan, Pope, Burnside, Hooker, and Meade before Grant was given the Army of the Potomac.
In Lee’s opinion McClellan was the best of his opponents.
“Didnt Lincoln also have by plurality the highest vote in the 1860 contest?”
Lincoln garnered 39% of the vote in a 4 way contest.
Democrats had broken along Northern and Southern lines. Combined, the two rival Democrat candidates picked up 47% of the vote, but in a 29%, 18% split for Douglas and then Breckenridge.
The Constitutional Union party’s John Bell got 12%.
“Both Trump and Lincoln were under constant, heavy pressure from a corrupt establishment during their time in office.”
The only pressure that Lincoln had to deal with was from the Radical Republican faction that controlled Congress. I can’t imagine what “corrupt establishment” you think there was then.
“More proof Republicans are pro slavery and racists - Lincoln freed the slaves.”
Lincoln’s emancipation order only applied to areas where the Union government wasn’t recognized. It didn’t free slaves in the Union where he was acknowledged as President.
Slavery didn’t end in the North until the 13th Amendment was ratified in December of 1865, months after Lincoln’s death.
IMO,he has surpassed Lincoln, but not Reagan.
Unfortunately these different civilizations will never be brought into parity; there are cultural issues that can’t be overcome.
