Genders? Also two. Their usage depends on which of the two sexes is associated with them in the writing.
I am very upset. That list does not include my gender. So I’m gonna sue NYC. I proudly self-identify as a “male lesbian”. I made that choice based on this joke:
A dumb guy is sitting at a bar. Across from him a lone woman is drinking.
Guy: Bartender, send that woman a drink from me.
Bartender: Don’t bother, pal. She’s a lesbian.
Guy: Huh? What’s a lesbian?
Bartender: Go ask her yourself.
So the guy walks over to the woman.
Guy: I’m told that you are a lesbian. I’ve never heard of that. What’s a lesbian?
Woman: Well, I like everything about women. Their curves, their soft skin, their silky voices.
The guy then walks back to his seat.
Bartender: What did you learn there?
Guy: Evidently, I am a lesbian.

If we can be whatever we identify as then I choose to identify as the Queen of England and to live the rest of my life on the British taxpayer’s dime. Hey, why are the Buckingham Palace guards saying, “Clap this loony Yank in irons”?
