Yes they misunderestimated.
I think they were arrogant and overconfident. Dem turnout was low across the board tonight.
Democrats lost their one Deep South governorship. Gone.
The other statewide race that will go to runoff is SOS. Important!
Chuck Todd will now refuse to let MSNBC viewers see the results of tonight’s election.
WWL New Orleans projecting runoff!
so much for impeachment! ;)
GOP will pick it up along with the statehouse in November.
Decision Desk:
We project that Republican Eddie Rispone will advance to the #LAGov runoff. He faces off against incumbent Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards on November 16th.
What’s “Decision Desk”?
They were giddily reporting on CNN today that polls showed Edwards right at the 50 percent level and that Trump could face a wipeout in the three governors races in this off-year - Mississippi, Kentucky and LA.
Well, hell, I was hoping for an all GOP runoff.
Eddie Rispone is LAs next Governor! Lets wish him the best.
Yes, Edwards is poised to get 100,000 votes from Orleans Parish and has big leads in Caddo and East Baton Rouge too.
When those last 10 percent of returns come in, it usually is a big boost to the liberal candidate. That’s what happened when last minute totals from liberal enclaves of Birmingham elected Doug Jones in 2017. I’m not sure that Edwards will finish with the 46 percent, but somewhat higher.

Republicans should take it in the run off. for SOS
Thank you!
Amen
Kyle Ardoin has been an excellent secretary of state. He is big on preventing voter fraud. I can’t understand why the Republican voters wouldn’t unite behind him. Maybe too many are uninformed.

9:50 p.m. 90 percent of the vote is in, and its Edwards 46, Rispone 27 and Abraham 24. From the looks of whats still out there, thats probably about how its going to finish.
And St. George has passed with 54 percent of the vote.
You’re welcome
