At the time this was aired, my first thought was "Well, you're running around yelling you're revolutionaries, so what the Hell do you expect?"
I was a civilian worker at Camp Pendleton then and talked with one of the EOD guys (bomb defusers) who was sent out there. He said they weren't the innocents portrayed, as they found 78 RPM vinyl discs with double edged razor blades taped to the rims. They were skimmed like Frisbees at the troops.
He said they also found, elsewhere, incandescent light bulbs that had a small hole drilled in them and filled with black powder. The deal was to screw them in a light socket so that when you threw the switch, you got a facefull of shattered glass. (A favorite Weathermen tactic)
Or filled with some volatile liquid. Yeah, innocent my butt.
Anyone else know that particular sound? Anyone with a smashed thumb?
= = =
I hurt my thumb when my canoe overturned, pinching my paddle. After that, I admit, I added to rising water levels as my M1 Garand fell into the waters. Very deep waters. I dived down, but lacking the skills and equipment of Lloyd Bridges, was not successful (sad).
What do I owe for adding Fe2O3 to the environment?
I am guilty. I repent.
I’ll invoice you. It wasn’t a CMP Garand was it? From O-Hi-0 national guard?
