“some people did some thing”
It is a pretty good rule that people on both sides are deterred by the threat of mutual death and destruction.
This worked well during the cold war and MAAD and the Soviet Union. You destroy me, I will destroy you. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to reason with someone who doesn't value their own life.
This is a tough one, no doubt. But maybe the “melting pot” of American culture will de-radicalize Muslims. At least here in the States. As Americans we all have to learn to live with people whom we disagree with and that includes Ilhan.
Great idea.
One of the very basic rules for making people change their behavior.
1. punish bad behavior. Sometimes severely if necessary.
2. reward good behavior. If it ever happens.
This is how you make people change their behavior.

Ignoring #2 for whatever reason, anger, hatred, etc. will only get you more of the same.

No, a family member can be a victim. Absolutely, I want her to meet with the families and apologize for Islam. That is, if the families are willing to meet with her first.
Based on the reactions to my comments, it is clear to me that we are on the verge of civil war and there is absolutely nothing that anyone can do to stop something that none of us really want. We don’t want war. Not really.
People are so angry that we will most definitely beyond the point of no return and all of us will be swept along and caught up in the tsunami.
So be it then. I am getting prepared. My family too. You should do the same. Generally speaking I agree with you and will be fighting on the same side as you (if you will have me). Arm yourself and prepare for the inevitability of war; Civil War that is. And may God bless you and your family.
Yawn.................
See 108 above. With this kind of anger, it doesn’t bode well for our country. They hate us, we hate them. No rational thought at all. May God bless you and see you through these challenging times and I certainly hope that we are on the right side of the cause. Because I believe that God watches out for this country because we try to do the right thing. When we don’t, we are punished for it.
My focus right now is the US constitution and defending it. I do believe that this is the righteous path.
Omar watching World Trade Center in black flames:
“You go, guys! Give the Americans a bloody nose!.....” Er, uh,.... now back to my previously prepared script written by my advisors. Where was I?”
I do not think you are a fool. I respect your desire to have healing happen.
However, I believe this is the very first pro -American, conciliatory statement ever made by Omar. Although before her election FReepers said she was trying to act "cute" and "nice" so people would vote for her in MN.
I have heard soundbites of Omar practically spitting out the words "The current occupant of the White House" and saying he is a white racist who inspires white supremacists to shoot people randomly with assault weapons.
And casting aspersions on Israelis for living (as all of supposed "Palestine" should become Arab only---meaning no where for Jews to live or to stay alive if they now are Israelis).
She has a long way to go to make me feel positively toward her.
I remember it clearly. Palestinians, with a lot of women in the crowds, dancing jubilantly in the streets. So happy that thousands of Americans were dead. This whore was probably dancing too.
Agreed 100%. And she IS playing games.
Apparently, she showed “sympathy” for Americans on 9-11 then, in the same breath, complained about how she was attacked which shows a lack of sincerity. Maybe if more Muslims like her had immediately condemned the attack, or her recent statements were much clearer and not evasive, then there might be less anger (then and now). But she and Muslims like her were and are silent and by her silence it is reasonable to think that she supported the attacks (or was agnostic about it).
We need to keep hitting her hard when she starts ranting and is insincere. But we also need to point out when she is being positive... and then link her “feeling attacked” comments with her “positive” remarks. It shows that she is not sincere. But it shows that we are the better side if we play it to our advantage. Maybe she will learn something. Then again, maybe not.
