Along with their eco-nut policy of soon banning all disposable plastic grocery bags

Is that throughout all Kroger stores nationwide, or just in certain states?

We have that INSANE policy here in The People's Republik of Connecticut. We get no more plastic bags from any stores, yet people are buying MORE plastic bags to line wastebaskets, etc. Plus we still use plastic bags for garbage, produce, etc.

I use *extra* plastic now in CT grocery stores. Every item that usually leaks or "sweats" (ie cold milk cartons), I just put in individual plastic bags from the Produce Dept. I don't want to clean that liquid out of my dopey reusable bags. I assume clear produce bags will be the next to go...

The website 2ndvote.com allows you to search retailers based on your beliefs. You can search ecommerce, office supply and grocery stores based on how liberal or conservative they are.

Going to https://www.2ndvote.com/company-scores/ and searching for grocery/food, you can find small and regional grocery chains in your area that reflect your values.
