Somewhere else they described this NYT effort as “neo-Confederate”. That is, the same argument used by slaveholders in the Confederacy, that America was meant to be a slave holding nation.
The left is going full circle.
Its “antifascists” are acting just like fascists.
Its “Christians” are either atheists or worship Moloch.
It has become the pinch faced moralists they used to hate.
“That is, the same argument used by slaveholders in the Confederacy, that America was meant to be a slave holding nation.”
Don’t forget both the CSA and USA had slave states.
Both the CSA and USA had pro-slavery constitutions.
Both the CSA and USA had presidents who took oaths to preserve and defend their nation’s pro-slavery constitution.
One of those presidents added a slave state to his nation after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Do you know which one?
Democrats since 1964 have moved from being a white racist party to a black racist party
The American Revolution ended in 1783; the Emancipation Proclamation was 80 years later (1863). THIS COUNTRY HAD LEGALIZED SLAVERY FOR EIGHTY YEARS - the “400 years” BS is pushed by blacktivists to push preferential treatment and the welfare state for perpetuity. In four years we will mark 160 years since the Emancipation Proclamation - TWICE AS LONG AS WE HAD LEGALIZED SLAVERY.
Didn’t know Amerigo Vespucci was a slaveowner; where did that come from?
See the link. It claims natives were taken to be sold as slaves during the Alonso de Hojeda expedition.
I have no idea if it is true - but in view of the “seriousness of the charge” the name of the two continents will have to changed.

Thanks; still insufficient to call him a “slaveowner” (as they may well have belonged to whoever funded the expedition - and since he was joining someone else’s expedition, I’ll assume he didn’t fund it himself). But you’re probably right: In view of the seriousness of the charge...
