While there were a few who did not like the banner, thousands cheered when it was raised.

JEEBUS! With a record of 36 and 72, one would think the few (and I do mean few) folks who showed up to the game would enjoy the entertainment value alone, if nothing else, of having this happen at the game... Sure as hell doesn’t seem like anything of note was likely to happen on the field...
It was Yogi Berra I believe who said, you will win 1/3 of your games no matter what you do, and lose a third of the games no matter what you do.. the other third talent and management matters...
GIven the Orioles literally are at .333... looks like they don’t have the talent or the management to win a damned game on actual merit.

They are 36 and 76... their team is a dumpster fire, right along with the city in general.

Same banner was unfurled at Yankee Stadium.

The Fans with the Joe30330 Banner were allowed to stay.

The “issue” for the ball parks is not the content but rather that the banner CAN block the view of others and as such, represents a potential impairment to their paying customers enjoyment/view of the game.
Secondary is the concern that the speech may cause a hostile response that also detracts from the game or may even escalate into a fight.

Partner, the deplorables and unredeemable clapped and cheered when the sign went up.
The major leagues allowed signs to go up if it was in the American league but not in the national league, of course, this was some time ago.
The city of Baltimore is some kind of Hell Hole and it is infested with Rats and drugs!

My thoughts also. I thought maybe it was in warmups or something, not the 8th inning.

Not disagreeing with you, just pointing out that professional sports is a BUSINESS. They have profit margins and expenses just like a normal business. As such, they can be influenced just like any other business.
