I have always (beginning before I filed my first tax return) opposed tax exemption for churches - and have never once claimed my tithing on my tax filing.

The Johnson Amendment was 30 Pieces of Silver, and American clergy took the bribe.

The Bible does not say, Render unto God what is God’s - with a nice subsidy from Caesar.

For the record, I have served on church staff in the past.

It's like the fake asylum/refugees ripoff that's happening on the border... there was a time when we created loopholes so we could help deserving people. Then the scammers got wind of something to abuse and now it has to be shut down.

I would be happy with exemptions for Churches - but every liberal progressive elitist organization would be screaming for the same right.... So if we have to give up Church write-offs in excange for shutting down a thousand George Soros types it's a win.
