You first, Bernie.
Because the gubbermint is so much more efficient and economical with your money....
It's well known how efficient government bureaucracies are.
Maybe it’s the dementia speaking... otherwise this old fool is simply insane.
Because that's the way ALL government programs roll...
...because we’re going to do away with hundreds of millions of dollars of administration waste, we’re going to do away with the incredible profiteering of the insurance companies and the drug companies,” Sanders said.
This is the rationale that socialists always use, but its based on a blatant lie and a logical fallacy.
The blatant lie is that the government could ever be expected to reduce administrative waste - all human experience shows the opposite to be true.
The logical fallacy here is a little more subtle, and easily foisted upon the ill-informed, because it is based on a partial truth. Big Pharma and the Big Health insurance companies ARE in fact price gouging - and ending those monopolies should definitely be a part of any solution.
However, socialists routinely introduce a false cause fallacy at this point in their argument, by taking for granted that monopolies are caused by lack of government regulation. In fact, the opposite is true. Monopolies are far less likely to occur in an unfettered economy with robust competition. Monopolies are most likely to form when large corporations are able to use regulatory hurdles and restrictions to legally block competition. Hence, Big Government is the very mechanism by which Big Pharma and Big Health Insurance providers secure their monopolies. Without Big Government, how would wealthy corporations enforce their monopolies? Who would they bribe (lobby) to pass laws and regulations that create obstacles for their competition?
The socialists dirtiest secret - the elephant in the room - is this myth that government regulatory policy exists to protect consumers from wealthy corporations - nothing could be farther from the truth. Sure, thats the ostensible reason for regulations. Thats the justification used to get lawmakers elected and re-elected. But the real truth is that Washington DC is nothing but a one-stop-shop for bribery (lobbying).
DC lawmakers earn votes by serving their constituents, but they get rich by serving their real masters on K Street.
Too cynical? I dont think so. There are good Senators and Congressmen in DC, who serve only their constituents. But for the most part they are bought and paid for by rich corporations, trade unions, or industrial cartels, and its not even illegal if its done through the proper channels.
Thats what Washington DC has become - a swampy place where the rich and powerful can come to be guided through the process of legally purchasing access to lawmakers. You have your fancy hotels and restaurants, you have your international banks to handle all the offshore account transactions, you have your lobby firms full of lawyers to make sure laws arent skirted, and right down the street you have Congress to tweak the laws if need be. All you need is a big enough bank account and voila! Instant monopoly!
Bernie Sanders may actually believe what he is saying (that nationalizing health care would provide better health care for less $$$) - in which case he is simply naive. More likely, he doesnt give a crap about affordable health care - he knows full well the federal government is a gravy train for corrupt politicians and he just wants to climb aboard (again).
I moved monies from my checking to savings, afterwards, I had less in my checking... very odd.
If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. Where have I heard promises about how the Democrat party will fix healthcare and lower premiums lower expenses etc. every time theyve tried to fix this issue they have made it worse, look how bad the VA was for many many years with long weights, top-heavy administration and putting patient care last not first.
He should become a salesman for Verizon Fios.
All of that was totally destroyed by RAT tax policies ages ago.
They just couldn’t stand the idea that perhaps someone out of the “unwashed masses” might actually achieve “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” by a lifetime of hard work.
No. They had to rob the individual of it so that others wouldn’t follow suit and maybe realize they didn’t need the government for economic survival. Government independence is an anathema to them. Greed is a terrible vice.
Hes got a lot of Bernie Madoff in him.
But we’d all save more money by switching to GEICO :)
That’s the reality of BIG[ger] govt. And only going to get worse as it (illegal, unconstitutionally) grows
Bernie Believes Raising Your Taxes Will Save You Money In The Long Run!
Anyone, who believes in this should be sterilized to prevent future idiots and then placed in an institution for their safety and others.
Unfortunately, in California,Washington, Oregone, NY, Mass and NJ,they go to colleges for free and end up as social workers or instructors of this bs.
And they will pay even less when the government starts rationing care and denying treatments. And they'll pay less again when they make all the doctors and nurses employees of the federal government. It's unconscionable that a doctor earns more than a Senator from Vermont!
Understanding Obamacare in 4 sentences:
1. To insure the uninsured, we first have to un-insure the insured.
2. Next, we require the newly un-insured to be re-insured.
3. To re-insure the newly un-insured, they are required to pay extra charges to be re-insured.
4. The extra charges are required so that the originally insured, who became un-insured, and then became re-insured, can pay enough extra so that the original un-insured can be insured, and it will be ‘free-of-charge’ for them.
Having my arms and legs cut off will save on grocery bills in the long run....
Makes as much sense..
I remember they said the same thing about BarryCare.
