It was a lot easier in the earlier days of commercial flight. When I was 12 in 1959, my parents and I flew from Lisbon to New York in a Pan Am four engine Boeing something or other. The flight was coming from Durban, RSA, and was a day late due to engine problems. Pan Am put us up in the Lisbon Ritz hotel that had not even officially opened yet. I remember my father saying that the suite cost $400 per night but Pan Am paid for it. We took off the next morning on three engines since the one that crapped out in South Africa hadn’t been totally fixed. It was the inboard starboard one and, of course, I had the window seat directly above it and watched it in flames for half the twelve hour flight. I remember seeing a stewardess climbing a ladder to a bunk built into the overhead where modern planes have carry-on luggage storage. She climbed in and draw the curtain closed and went to sleep. I was jealous. Apparently Pan Am had a fleet of Boeing 377’s that had two levels and could be configured with sleeping chambers that would accommodate two when turned down. Based on the videos on YouTube, copulation would not have been difficult on those old planes.

I think he said “trips” not flights. Actual “trips” could be construed as to when he flew to Africa or England etc for a purpose, ie the Clinton Foundation.

“Flights” is different. How many “flights”? We’ve heard over 24? He can say that none of those “flights” were “trips”.

In summary, I was a bit shocked that Dershovitz was actually defending Clinton, or tried to. Laura wasn’t going to let that go.
