No, Facebook already gives them everything. See the doxxing of the black forklift driver in NYC who created the drunk Pelosi joke video.
Hmmm, with the NSA, they have everything they should ever want but with them getting a warrant seems like they’re headed to a court of law over something.
Meant to add that with a warrant for everything on everybody, well, that will give them the key to the candy store for any and everything they might ever want on anything. Seems to be overstepping the bounds.
The site, created to serve those who felt 4chan’s nearly-nonexistent moderation was too restrictive...
The site is more moderated than FR.
It just has fewer rules.
Just one, actually. Post Nothing illegal.
As the target that the site is, that rule gets violated a lot by bad actors trying
to get it shut down.
The result is a vigilant user community and owner/operator/moderator teams that react quickly and appropriately to illegal posts.

An FBI agent posed as an 8Chan user, tried to solicit illegal activity. Used his own posts as evidence of illegal activity, screenshotted from his OWN computer, whose posts all identified HIMSELF as the poster. This is the state of our intel people.
Good post you made, in a sea of ignorance.
I’m thinking that Q and the 8ch owner saw this coming a long time ago and have a plan.
“Im almost at the point where I feel the need to go dark - not post anything anywhere, just keep my mouth shut. Say the wrong thing and your bank account gets shut down.”
And think about that on a deeper level. I am sure you aren’t the only one. But when a person finally “goes dark”, in their mind because they think their opinions may land them in legal hot water, something big has happened. They no longer see themselves as a citizen or a participant, they have become a sort of enemy of the government- existing at the edges. Waiting for a chance to take their power back.
Create enough people who see the central government that way, and things happen. History is full of examples.
When you begin to conceal yourself, by it’s very nature a police state begins working to ferret you out. Our government does not accept that anything -whatsoever- should fall outside it’s ability to know. By the very nature of that contest, you become opponents. As the police state uses more blunt tools, and more oppression, and exacts more severe punishments... things escalate just as they would in any arms race.
There is no good end to such a contest.
I wonder why the FBI couldn’t have gotten a warrant for the DNC server(s) ?
Thanks like your tagline, I have a new one, also.
What I fear even more is the alignment of these types of government behavior with the networking of the tech giants. You can barely click on something on one web site without then seeing related information popping up everywhere else.
This is becoming too powerful. That bank accounts (Chase) have been closed without warning or reason and Facebook banning people because they *mention* the “wrong” persons name, with all this back-end integration, they’re superseding the power of the State...and there’s no laws to stop them. Now FB has its own currency! ...and the masses have zero understanding - they’ll use it.
Strikes me they are using a cannon to kill a fly and if it goes to the courts they may lose their cannon.

They want to intimidate users out of posting on 8ch by threatening to collect information on them. The FBI fears and threatens those who expose them.
Thanks, it’s good to hear the insights of people familiar with the site. The author of the article obviously has a dim view of 8chan, which is maybe not that well informed.
You might disagree with the authors rather caustic characterization of 8chan. Maybe he's even ignorant, but mostly it's moot vis-a-vis his larger point about the reckeless and over broad search powers of the State.

Fun fact, Those in The Forbidden City caught him before it was exposed. Free Speech, whatta concept!
Yes, yes there is.
What they don’t understand is that even if they did shut down The Forbidden City, those autists are still out there and as Tumbler learned, as have many others, you really don’t want to poke that hornets nest.
Thanks for the ping, Cletus.
IPs on 8chan are probably as closely tracked as anywhere on
the net.
Using a VPN to post there probably gets you special attention.
Best to obey 8Chan’s one rule. Post nothing illegal.
There have been ample examples of people that have violated
that one rule, that do not seem to be posting any more.
