Already, with the 'chip cards' they have now, the days are essentially gone of the clerk even seeing the card itself anyway. So, would I like to have a "Zeugma" card? Sure. Would it make any practical difference what 'name' is on the card, as long as the financials are ultimately tied to me in any case?
Then there are prepaid cards, that have no name at all on them, and are essentially bearer instruments. If you have the card, you can use it.
Again, the alleged reason they are doing this is lunacy, but the practical ramifications of it aren't really such a big deal. I will be interested in how it's implemented. Could I ask that my card read "John Locke", "Thomas Paine", or "John Galt"? Inquiring minds would like to know.
