The sub is to a third party perhaps? Regardless trump should send a marine squad over to grab up the judge and take him to gitmo for an exparte heading on the subject.

Mehta also denied a request from Trump lawyer William Consovoy that he issue a stay on the ruling while they appeal the decision to a higher court, meaning that the House Democrats could quickly obtain the president's financial records if Mazars complies with the request before an appeals court potentially intervenes. The president's attorneys have indicated that they will appeal any ruling not in their favor.

Even this idiot judge knows that there is no standing. Otherwise why not allow an appeal? Trump should tell the Dems to go Phuck themselves and start impeaching, and watch his poll numbers skyrocket!

Remember the good old days before the judges ruled over every minute of our lives in public and inside our homes?

Imagine if Ike and FDR had tried to reply to the Axis powers on D-Day (Ike) and to Pearl Harbor (FDR) and had been overruled for 2-3 years by various self-important little judges.

Diversity was not just right for D-Day (have to be equal women, blacks and LGBTQ in each amphibious landing vessel) and who can prove the actual originators of the Pearl Harbor destruction? Animal House said it was the Germans. SCOTUS on recess so will not hear the Ike and FDR cases until next year.

I wonder if this will set a precedent? It will give Congress the power to subpoena a presidents financial records?
I almost wish Hillary was running for President in 2020 and if she won.... No doubt there is plenty of dirty laundry.

Seriously, this is an attack on the privacy of an individual for political gain. A special council investigation is one thing, this is another. This is far from fair. However, if Democrats want to “go there,” then Democrats should be ready for tit for tat. And, Democrats no whining please; you created the precedent.

The subpoena is aimed at the CPA firm. CPAs are not known for being warriors.

The judge should be removed from the bench, disbarred and exiled/deported. What a compromised affirmative-action putz. The Greatest Fraud Ever really scraped the bottom of the barrel.

ah so, the evil-doers have sought out a weak point in the defenses, maybe?
I would have to review the law on this but I believe a client has the legal right to expect his CPA to maintain his confidences, at least if so directed.
Certainly this applies to attorneys and clerics and....I believe it applies to CPA’s under contract, too... let’s see if anyone here can update us on this to be absolutely certain thanks

Its no one’s damn business to see records of BEFORE Trump was in office, its NO ONE’S business..but the left wants to look inside and find anything they can use against him..I dont remember Republicans going after Obama’s student financial aide records to find out if he was a foreign student..Obama REFUSED to give his student info, his grades, etc and no one complained

Wouldn’t be surprised to see the FBI raid the accounting firm with a search warrant - better get that stuff out of wherever it is.

Dems have ZERO intention of impeaching, they know if they do they will ensure a Trump victory in 2020..instead they are going to harass him from now til election day, hoping they can annoy him so much he leaves voluntarily

The only thing consistent about judicial rulings is that they are outcome driven. If Hillary had been under the same sort of demand, this same judge would have ruled in Hillary’s favor, citing the same precedents but for the opposite propositions.

A CPA firm doesn’t own the returns; Trump does.

I don’t think Barr is going to permit that.

How does a judge come up with a 41 page opinion in two weeks?

Someone else wrote it for him.

Agreed. Very true. I often wonder if the Clintons made a deal with the devil. Of course, it doesn't help when half the country's voters look the other way.

But what just happened with attorney-client privilege? Seems like it no longer has any meaning. I wonder if a CPA firm can be compelled to turn on its client.

What is the probable-cause? What crime has been committed?

Last I checked the 4th Amendment was applicable *specifically* to the US Government. We do not do fishing expeditions, which is exactly what this is.

This has devolved into harassment.
