The FBI wasn’t all that, to begin with. They are not very well like by local law enforcement folks, generally speaking. They’ve had more than their fair share of scandals, all of which were swept under the rug, as there really is no one to investigate them, DOJ certainly won’t do it, nor would Congress. So, they’re kind of untouchable as scary as that is. Guess that’s why Comey, et al, tried what they tried.
A decent, street detective could work circles around them any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
I think the vast majority of the fbi/doj/cia/nsa are POS lawyers who think they are the law...
True, but POTUS is smart to say just what he said. Same with police. There are a ton of bad cops - and not just the top brass, but also rank and file.
But he is right to focus his criticism just on the top brass, especially holdovers from the prior administration. Thats where his leverage is and thats the root of the problem.
And politically, its always a mistake to paint with too broad a brush - there are a lot of well-meaning law and order conservatives in his base that want to believe the rank and file cops are basically good - heroes in fact. If Trump criticizes cops too broadly, it could be misunderstood as defending the mob rule of the Left.
