I don’t bother with FB. Dropped it years ago and do not miss it.

There is a local astronomy club that I was a member of about 15 years ago but never went to a meeting. Just like every other club I join.

Great advice. You can see the moons of Jupiter with decent binoculars.

Indeed. And if you decide you DON’T like astronomy, you can use the binos for other things.

I have found that birding (bird watching) is a nice compliment to amateur astronomy. Going camping? Bring your binoculars. Much easier than lugging a Dobsonian up a trail. You can get in some casual astronomy as well as look at some of the coolest creatures in nature. (yeah I’m a nerd)
