His question and mine was why there? The trails are on the other side of the roadway and there are no official trails above where she was found.
Curious. But I'm also glad the family has some closure.
Here’s a YouTube survival story of a runner who fell and broke her leg. Was trapped in a canyon.

Maybe she fell off the wagon picked a fight with a local cougar?/sarc
Someone out alone in that terrain has to be very careful, all it would take is tripping over a rock at the wrong spot.
A fall like that would definitely jar jar Binks.
I’ve seen about a dozen of Paulide’s Missing 411 reports. The problem is that these never go into a true national database. The bulk of these always amaze me...solo hiker by themselves, over and over in various episodes.
Yup. His latest book and movie is about hunters, and how many of them, despite being armed, go missing. This is concerning for Alabamians, as so many hunt.
And there are certain factors going beyond what you would expect. Demographically, a great deal are German or German descent, either really young (children—early teens) or older, say plus 40—55, and high IQ. All are found—if found—without shoes or boots, and at higher elevations, even cliff faces or mountain tops. All disappear in the early to mid afternoon.
So Paulides has a database of sorts, trapping these commonalities, which are certainly unusual. I don’t know if it can be independently searched or queried, so if not, you could say there are no databases..
