Incarcerated but not convicted, sure, let them vote. Having completed their term and parole, and served their debt to society, yes, restore their rights.
But while convicted and incarcerated, no.
I don't disagree. I think it was his statement about prisoners still being part of society that had me shaking my head. The old boy makes it sound like prison is just a resort with a few fewer amenities than Mar-a-lago available to the "guests".

Ahh! The first thing that patriots can do is to support PDJT in leading the states to repeal the ill-conceived 17th Amendment. (The 16th Amendment can disappear too.)
Regarding desperate Democrats wanting felons in prison to vote for Democrats, patriots are reminded that common sense, along with Section 2 of the 14th Amendment, discourages the states from allowing criminals to vote.
”14th Amendment, Section 2. Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime [emphases added], the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State."

The reality that Bernie is totally oblivious to includes:
1) It was socialism that initially motivated both Hitler and Mussolini. That it morphed into the absolutely related entity - Fascism, doesn't change that fact - and this is what led to the Holocaust.
2) It wasn't pacifism, or a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals hiding behind university-based activism who ended the Holocaust and liberated the camps. It was the young men who put their young lives on the line to fight for freedom who accomplished this - a large number of them losing their lives in the process.
3) The Soviets signed a pact with Nazi Germany in 1939 (Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact), initially thought that war amongst the nations of Europe might help the USSR as long as they weren't involved, and certainly were NOT protectors of Jewish Europeans. They became our allies because it was in their best interest at the time as Hitler had turned on them - NOT because they were some principled ideologues who wanted to fight the concept of Fascism.
4) Antisemitism in Russia didn't end with the Tzar's. It just took new and worse forms thereafter. Even though some Russian Jews joined the Bolsheviks, partially for self-preservation, after the revolution synagogues were closed, Jewish communities dissolved, and Judaism as a religion was suppressed.
5) Although outwardly the USSR projected a stance of antisemitism, and expressed admiration for Jewish contributions to world socialism, Lenin wrote this about the Jews in the Ukraine: “Jews and city dwellers on the Ukraine must be taken by hedgehog-skin gauntlets, sent to fight on front lines, and should never be allowed on any administrative positions.”
6) Stalin, who attacked Trotsky for being Jewish, was quite antisemitic - calling it ‘anti-Zionism’. After 1948, many Jewish writers, scholars, and artists were killed, and in 1953 the ‘Doctor's plot’ was used as a smokescreen by Stalin to kill Jews and suppress or eradicate Jewish culture.
7) Many Jews fled the USSR thereafter. The people of the United States, including those whose families are now labeled ‘deplorables’ by the leftists Bernie embraces, provided a safe haven in the US for the Jewish people. The US has now the largest Jewish population in the world, on par with Israel. As a nation, we support Israel, denounce antisemitism, and generally embrace Judaism as the foundation of our Judeo-Christian heritage.
8) Despite all of these facts, people like Bernie still embrace socialism/Communism, and still think Karl Marx was a genius - instead of the lazy resentful arrogant idiot with daddy issues he truly was.
9) Worse, people like Bernie want to ‘transform’ the US, making it more like socialist Europe, or even the USSR, despite the fact that antisemitism is on the rise in socialist Europe, the history of Jewish persecution in the USSR, and the fact that there is no other country on Earth in which Jews are defended more or are safer than in the US.
10) So, Bernie, you are far from a thoughtful and principled intellectual. You're not even close to that. You're just a privileged old fool who still clings to the stupidity of a man, Marx, who denounced his own Judaism, put forth an intellectually vapid economic theory that has recurrently failed when implementation was attempted, and whose resentment of his father and society has led to an enormous amount of pain, suffering, and death in the world.
